Black masterbatch / grade 2016

Black masterbatch for molding and film application review.

Sinfone introduces black grade 2016 for injection molding, blow molding and blown film discussions. Start with your final resin, process and required black appearance so that carrier compatibility, dispersion and the sample path can be reviewed for the real application.

Published grade direction

What should stay open until technical review?

Describe the requirement before selecting a concentration or carrier direction. Ask for the current grade-specific technical information and the conditions under which a result is measured.

  • Compatibility with the final resin and any recycled-content blend.
  • Pigment content and masterbatch addition rate, as separate properties.
  • The black shade, opacity, surface finish and dispersion you need.
  • Relevant mechanical, processing or durability requirements.
  • Any market-specific document, food-contact, UV or other functional requirement.

This page does not establish a universal loading rate, pigment percentage, UV rating, conductivity specification or regulatory approval.

Process review

A black molded part and a black film need different briefs.

The same grade number cannot replace the production context. Use the inputs below to make a sample discussion specific.

Information to include for black masterbatch application review
ProcessDescribe the productBring to the sample review
Injection moldingResin and grade if known, molded part, visible surfaces and relevant thickness.Approved black reference, current material and addition rate, appearance or processing issue, and defined acceptance criteria.
Blow moldingResin system, finished container or item, wall thickness and end use.Target appearance, existing grade if any, process information and the documents required for the finished application.
Blown filmResin blend, film structure, film thickness and intended use.Target black appearance, dispersion issue if observed, current addition rate, relevant production conditions and test method.

For a different process or a requirement not covered here, describe it in your inquiry rather than assuming suitability. Review the broader application guide.

Processor or distributor

Tell us whose production requirement you are reviewing.

A processor can usually provide the resin, process conditions and observed issue. A distributor or sourcing representative may need to confirm those points with the end user. Tell us your role and separate known requirements from questions that are still open.

For a distributor inquiry, include the intended customer application and country or market, as well as sample quantity and estimated production quantity if available. Do not assume one black grade serves every customer.

Sample comparison

Agree what a useful result should show.

Share the existing sample or approved reference, the comparison method and any acceptance criteria you already use. Ask which grade information and sample review are appropriate for the final resin and process.

Keep a photo used to explain a requirement separate from an approved physical or measured reference. Quantity, price, sample availability and timing remain subject to confirmation.

Black masterbatch questions

Questions to resolve before an order.

Can I choose 2016 using only the required black color?

Color is only one input. Share the final resin, processing method, end application and appearance target. Carrier compatibility, dispersion, addition rate and performance should be reviewed for that context.

Is a stated pigment percentage the same as the addition rate?

No. Pigment content describes a property of the masterbatch, while addition rate describes how much masterbatch is used in the final resin. Label the requested percentage and ask for the relevant grade information and application guidance.

Does this page establish outdoor, conductive or food-contact performance?

No. These are separate requirements that need application-specific review and appropriate evidence. Name the property, intended market and test or document requirement in the inquiry.

What should I ask for before comparing samples?

Ask for the current TDS, the proposed grade and any relevant test conditions or supporting report. Provide the resin, process, approved reference and criteria you intend to compare. Samples can be discussed after project review.

Send the black requirement and the conditions behind it.

Start with grade 2016 or request an open black grade review. For a white requirement, compare 3450 and ABS-focused 3125. For a specific nonstandard shade, see custom color matching.
